Faculty of Data and Decision Sciences Website

Faculty of Data and Decision Sciences | Technion

The Faculty of Data and Decision Sciences at the Technion trains engineers and researchers in the fields of data engineering, information systems, and industrial engineering and management. It combines academic excellence with applied research at the forefront of innovation. Therefore, it serves as a hub for students, researchers, and industry professionals seeking data-driven knowledge, tools, and solutions.
After the faculty’s name changed from the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management, a full website redesign became essential. This transformation followed a strategic research phase led by an external agency. At the same time, the faculty underwent a rebranding process, which resulted in a comprehensive brand book with clear design and content guidelines.
At this point, our team took on the responsibility of redesigning the faculty’s website. We built a flexible infrastructure using template-based screens, which allows seamless content management without additional development. To ensure a user-centered outcome, we conducted in-depth UX research, including user interviews, surveys, competitor analysis, and audience segmentation. Based on our findings, we defined core UX principles and designed interfaces tailored to the specific needs of each user group.
In addition, we worked closely with the development team throughout the entire process. This collaboration ensured accurate implementation of the designs and a cohesive, accessible, and user-friendly experience across all platforms.

Dashboard Screens

Home Page

The homepage was designed to be accessible, engaging, and user-focused. Its clear layout brings essential information to the forefront, making it instantly visible. It features a visual summary of academic programs, key statistics, recent news, upcoming events, social media highlights, and a contact form. Each section was thoughtfully structured to help users navigate efficiently and find relevant information without friction.

Faculty Members Page (Lobby)

This page was built as a dynamic and modular template that supports ongoing content updates without requiring further development. It includes an advanced search engine with keyword support, as well as filters by rank, research group, or field. This makes it fast and intuitive for users to locate faculty members and explore research content. Additionally, the layout presents all research groups and labs clearly and in an organized manner.

News Page

The article page was designed as a reusable internal content template. It features a side menu that remains visible while scrolling, allowing for easy navigation. The menu includes a table of contents, share buttons, search tags, and an automatic researcher-tagging tool that supports filtering by research field. At the bottom of each article, users can move directly to the next or previous article, encouraging continuous content exploration.

Mobile Screens

As part of the design process, we placed strong emphasis on the mobile version, recognizing that most users access the site via mobile devices. The design was thoughtfully adapted to ensure an optimal user experience across all screen sizes.
